Summer Study Abroad, Cuernavaca, Mexico from Texas A&M University
"I want to thank you for your generous gift that allowed me to travel to Cuernavaca, Mexico this Summer. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
The trip to Cuernavaca taught me all about the Mexican way of life. I lived with a host family in an incredible Spanish-influenced house. There I learned all about the remarkable family life that takes place in Mexico. A stroke of luck allowed me to meet the two sons of my house-mother who are executives in a major company in Mexico City. These men took me under their wing - they brought me to work to tour the plants and let me know what they thought was working and not working about Mexican business, and more specifically, I later turned these conversations into a term paper for a class in which I receive an "A".
I attended a university while I was in Cuernavaca - Tec de Monterrey. There I took classes in Operations Management and Spanish. Being in Mexico while I took these classes enhanced my understanding tenfold.
This study abroad trip would not have happened without your gift. Please understand how appreciative I am. My experiences in Mexico have cause me to want to study International Law - I will enter law school next fall. Thanks again for your help."
