Faculty Development in International Business "European Economies in Transition" from the University of Pittsburgh
Faculty Development in International Business "European Economies in Transition" In 2005, fifteen program participants took an 11 day trip to visit Moscow, Russia; Sophia, Bulgaria; and Prague, Czech Republic. Participants developed an understanding of regional businesses and economic integration issues among these markets. The program also examined the relationship between those markets, world markets, and other regional markets, such as the European Union. The trip involved lectures on economic and business conditions, group seminars, and company and governmental visits. Companies visited in 2005 included Coca-Cola in Moscow, V.W. Skoda in Prague, Carlsberg brewing in Sophia.
This program was created and led by the University of Pittsburgh's International Business Center in cooperation with the CIBERS at the University of South Carolina and the University of Florida.
