London International Accounting Study Abroad

Program designed specifically for MAcc students who have completed their first year of courses. Students will study both on BYU's Provo campus as well as spending two weeks in London. They will meet with students fomr the University of Dayton, and have meetings with IASB, IFRS, accounting firms, and other experts in the field.

Faculty Study Abroad in Strasbourg, France ... Discover the New Europe!

The study abroad program includes seminars on European business and cultural issues, on-site visits to a variety of industries, and exciting side trips to Frankfort and Stuttgart, Germany. Participants are exposed to the latest developments in European business issues through discussions with leading faculty and business experts, and develop an increased understanding of the function and structure of the EU.

2nd Annual FDIB-Africa

The 2nd annual FDIB-Africa program, to be conducted in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe, will once again combine over two dozen business visits, cultural experiences and academic visits and lectures over 17 days, to initiate and/or enhance faculty awareness and insight in the business, academic and cultural world of sub-Saharan Africa.

Student Study Tour

This intensive field study, Windows on China, to Beijng, Nanjing, Suzhou and Shanghai will provide business and liberal arts students with a general introduction to Chinese history and an overview of modern Chinese business, political and cultural environments. The course offers a combination of lectures and field trips. Students will be briefed by US and Chinese scholars and journalists on various political, economic and business issues of China today; visit business operations to study US-China joint venture operations and other foreign investment companies; and visit cultural and historical sites to understand the framework of today’s China. Classes will be held at the International College – Beijing at China Agriculture University. The required textbook is China: A New History, 2nd Edition, Harvard University Press, 2006 by John King Fairbank and Merle Goldman.

Faculty Development in International Business: European Economies in Transition

Beginning on May 17, 2008 program participants will take a 12-day trip to visit Croatia, Bulgaria, and Poland. Participants will develop an understanding of regional business and economic integration issues among these markets. This program will also examine the relationship between these markets, world markets, and other regional markets, such as the European Union. The trip will involve lectures on economic and business conditions, group seminars, and company and governmental visits.

Business in Brazil Summer Tour

The University of Florida is pleased to sponsor a program in Brazil for business students and others interested in Latin American business and finance. Drawing on the resources of the Center for Latin American Studies and CIBER, UF has offered this unique study opportunity since 2000. The program offers six credits and two courses: Business in Brazil (3 transfer credits) and Brazilian Portuguese (3 transfer credits). Business in Brazil is organized by the School of Business at PUC-Rio and includes visits to local companies and NGO's three afternoons per week. Brazilian Portuguese is offered at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels in small intensive classes taught by native speaking, professionally trained IBEU instructors.

Europe Study Abroad
July 1, 2008 -  August 7, 2008  - Brigham Young University   [Details]

Students will receive hands-on experience in the international business community combined with “on-the-ground” instruction in government, culture, and global business from experienced BYU and European professors. Tentative countries and cities to visit include: London, England; Paris and Lyon, France; Bern and Geneva, Switzerland; Munich and Berlin, Germany; Krakow, Poland; and Prague, Czech Republic. With many company and governmental visits anticipated in these countries, the program will provide students with an opportunity to investigate and understand real issues involved in getting business done in the European Union, and the emerging markets of Eastern Europe. Part of the program instruction will be based at École de Management in Lyon, France, one of Europe’s leading business schools. As we travel throughout Europe, students will experience local culture at cafes, castles, and museums, and will visit large and small firms as well as commerce officials, who facilitate EU trade and European market entry.
