"As a participant on UConn's faculty study tour to India, I was immersed in experiences and expert insights that gave me a new understanding of India's transition to a modern economy. From briefings at telecom and business process outsourcing companies in the vanguard of India's modernity revolution to lessons on village life-this trip provided a full spectrum of exposure to a continent in motion. As a result of my trip, I established a research partnership with faculty at Management Development Institute in Gurgaon and we developed cases and a simulation on the food supply chain used in our MBA supply chain course here at the RH Smith School of Business."

Internationalizing Doctoral Education in Business (IDEB) - The Ohio State University
This three day seminar is designed for first and second year doctoral students of all disciplines. The workshops will focus on international business research issues, methodology, data collection, and other aspects of globalized business studies. Students will hear from experts about international research issues in all disciplines, identifying viable research topics in international business, valuable data-gathering methods, and other useful techniques in international business research. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with faculty members from sponsoring CIBERs and other doctoral students from around the country.
Workshop Topics:
The Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) were created under the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988 to increase and promote the nation's capacity for international understanding and economic enterprise. Administered by the U.S. Department of Education under Title VI, Part B of the Higher Education Act of 1965, the CIBER program links the manpower and information needs of U.S. business with the international education, language training, and research capacities of universities across the U.S. Thirty-one universities were designated as centers that serve as regional and national resources to business, students, and academics. Together, the CIBERs form a powerful network focused on improving American competitiveness and providing comprehensive service and programs that help U.S. business succeed in global markets.
