Europe Study Abroad - Brigham Young University
Students will receive hands-on experience in the international business community combined with "on-the-ground" instruction in government, culture, and global business from experienced BYU and European professors.
Tentative countries and cities to visit include: London, England; Paris and Lyon, France; Bern and Geneva, Switzerland; Munich and Berlin, Germany; Krakow, Poland; and Prague, Czech Republic.
With many company and governmental visits anticipated in these countries, the program will provide students with an opportunity to investigate and understand real issues involved in getting business done in the European Union, and the emerging markets of Eastern Europe. Part of the program instruction will be based at École de Management in Lyon, France, one of Europe's leading business schools. As we travel throughout Europe, students will experience local culture at cafes, castles, and museums, and will visit large and small firms as well as commerce officials, who facilitate EU trade and European market entry.

Teaching Languages in the Digital Age - San Diego State University
SDSU's LARC Summer Institute "Teaching Languages in the Digital Age" addresses the needs and concerns of digital literacy for language teachers. We remember that you are a language teacher, and not a programmer. This institute will help you integrate web technology in your curriculum. It is designed for teachers who want to know what tools to use and how to use them for adding content online and make it accessible for students.
The Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) were created under the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988 to increase and promote the nation's capacity for international understanding and economic enterprise. Administered by the U.S. Department of Education under Title VI, Part B of the Higher Education Act of 1965, the CIBER program links the manpower and information needs of U.S. business with the international education, language training, and research capacities of universities across the U.S. Thirty-one universities were designated as centers that serve as regional and national resources to business, students, and academics. Together, the CIBERs form a powerful network focused on improving American competitiveness and providing comprehensive service and programs that help U.S. business succeed in global markets.
